💧‼️ Water at Englewood

💧‼️ Water at Englewood

TO:             Parents / Guardians
FROM:       Randy Reardon, Principal
DATE:        September 16, 2022

We have received notice September 16, 2022 from the Department of Health and Wellness that the water at Englewood School exceeds the guidelines set for total coliform bacteria.
We have supplied portable bottled water machines for students to fill water bottles and will continue until the water is within acceptable guidelines. The school will post signage and use the PA system reminding students and staff not to drink the water. It is considered safe for hand washing; however, hand sanitizers are provided in washrooms as an added precaution.

WE ENCOURAGE EACH STUDENT TO HAVE A WATER BOTTLE FOR THE COMING WEEK UNTIL WE GET NOTIFICATION THAT OUR WATER IS HEALTHY.

The Public Schools Branch is following the recommendations provided by the Department of Health and Wellness in regard to the situation and occupancy of the building has been deemed appropriate while following these recommendations.
We are working with representatives from the Department of Environment and the Department of Health to resolve our water quality issues.

Questions or concerns can be directed to: Shiloah Schmidt, School Safety Consultant at the Public Schools Branch or
Randy Reardon, Principal at Englewood.
I thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this matter.

Sincerely,
Randy Reardon
