Student Well Being Teams

Student Well Being Teams are in all Island public schools to provide services to students in the areas of physical and mental health. The teams work with school staff to support students and families, though they are not school based staff: they are tri-departmental and include social workers & registered nurses (Dept of Health), outreach workers (Dept of Justice) and provincial staff (Dept of Education). They work 12 months a year and continue support outside of school breaks and regular school hours. The team can also provide home support or clinical support as needed.

The team is referral based for one-on-one support and for mental health groups, which means students must go through a referral process to access these services. For more information please see the letter below or visit the following website.
